Behind the synonym The Gaslamp Killer is the L.A.-based weird musician and DJ William Bensussen. In his hometown, he is considered an icon and is also the figurehead of the Brainfeeder label. His shamanistic recipe for success: he mixes everything that energises him and the crowd and displays the greatest turntable skills in the process. He himself is strongly influenced by the idea of turntablism, which sees the turntable itself as an instrument. His musical spectrum ranges from bass, tropical, jazz and hip hop to acid rock and funk.
